Company reviews · Google Ads

Google Seller Ratings measure the reputation of the merchant, not the quality of a specific product. Understand how store reviews, third-party review sources and Google Ads eligibility differ from product star snippets and Shopping ratings.

Company reviews versus product reviews

A store review describes the overall buying experience: fulfilment, customer service, delivery and trust. A product review evaluates an individual item. Google maintains separate rating programmes for these two entities.

  • Storewide customer experience
  • Product-specific ratings and UGC
  • Separate Google systems and review data sources

How Google Ads seller stars work

Google obtains eligible seller ratings from sources it trusts, including licensed review partners and some of its own systems. Requirements and thresholds can vary by country and time; collected company reviews alone do not guarantee ad stars.

  • Eligibility based on qualifying data and country
  • Independent assessment by Google
  • Seller-rating display is not guaranteed

A complete google seller ratings strategy

  • Company reviews

Reputation for the whole purchasing experience.

  • Google Ads stars

Seller rating extensions follow Google's own eligibility processes.

  • Google Business Profile

A different review destination, with its own guidelines.

  • Product Ratings

Shopping ratings refer to the individual product, not the store.

  • Organic schema stars

Product snippets depend on accurate Product/Review markup.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cartnio a Google-licensed seller-ratings partner?

No such Google licensing or accreditation has been established for Cartnio. Creating customer reviews in Cartnio does not automatically qualify a merchant for Google Seller Ratings.

How many reviews are needed for Google Seller Ratings?

Google considers qualifying data by country, with thresholds and other signals that may change. Check Google's current Ads Help requirements rather than assuming any single count guarantees stars.

Are seller and product ratings the same?

No. Seller Ratings describe the store in Google Ads and other Google surfaces; Product Ratings describe particular products in Shopping listings. Product review schema governs eligibility for some organic Search appearances.

Can I show store reviews in Cartnio today?

The existing Cartnio collector captures product-labelled written reviews via manual invitations. A dedicated company-review collector and approved Google seller-rating source relationship require separate implementation.
